I would like to rise in defense of Scorpio signs everywhere. As a Scorpio myself, I’ve heard it all—intense, scary, obsessive, crazy, shady. Enough of the slander! Since Scorpio is a fixed water sign (meaning it’s ruled by the emotional, fluid element of water, but is also fixed) this can make them guarded. “For some, their enigmatic nature could come across as ‘shady’ or unapproachable but, in reality, this is how Scorpios protect their heart,” Montúfar explains. But when you’ve done something wrong, expect them have your back and be brutally honest with you—especially when you’re not exactly being truthful. “They see right through people and know their real intentions. Signs of this element are also very prone to be in relationships, as their need to merge with another means they function better when they feel safe and protected,” Montúfar explains. “Plus, the sensitivity that comes from the water element also translates into great creativity.”
